Tom defines his success in life by his relationships. He cultivated his relationships with the working class and poor people. He feels he made a difference in their lives and they made a BIG difference in his life.
Tom always walked in the shadow of the senior minister. He never sought a higher position or recognition. He defined his ministry as, “doing for others.”
Tom believes that people are like cities, beautiful on the outside, but the temptations are on the inside. And the inside is where the work has to be done.
According to Tom, we need to leave every conversation knowing more about the other person than they know about us. He is a great success.
