He was a good athlete and a very good student. Adversity strengthened him. Perseverance and courage define Vence. After high school he played baseball for the New York Yankees. When faced with the military draft during the Vietnam War, he left the Yankees and joined the Marine Corps. His positive attitude, mental toughness, and work ethic served him well. He retired from the Marines as a Lieutenant Colonel.
Vence is a mechanical engineer. He used his same “can do” attitude to overcome difficult setbacks and have a very successful business career.
There is a gentler side to Vence. He is a devoted, kind and loving husband, father and grandfather. He and his wife teach ballroom dancing. He builds gorgeous furniture, too.
